A History Lesson for a Scribe, as Dictated by Gods

I, you, we – imagine we are in nothingness. Where are we? If there is nothing in every dimension, every point is the center. There is no meaning to where, nor is there a center. There never was a where, it is not a question we can conceive of.

Where are we going? In the absence of relative motion, it matters not if we are going or staying. There is no telling one from the other. It is another question we cannot conceive of. For motion needs something, relative to something else, denoting change.

Motion also requires time. With no time, there can be no change. The converse also holds. With no motion, time is a null bystander. Infinitely, patiently waiting. Indiscernible. It matters not if it exists. It matters not if it is or is not.

V = X/T. Velocity. Space. Time. We cannot state it more simply, more elegantly than that. And there is terrible depth in each one of these endlessly fascinating symbols.

Axiomatic, grand entities that we put forward into existence. We created. To be able to conceive the questions of a where, a where to, a when. We did it because that glimmer of an idea to make those — that was exhilarating. We should explore, create, see where it goes. For we Understand by Being.

Aaaah. And so we groaned this particular universe into being.

Some called it The Big Bang. Some Genesis Verse A. It’s all the same. We made time, because, yes, there was none of it. And matter. Because there was none of it. We gave it relative motion, and we let this grand show (for there are many many others) play out. We are fascinated by what is. What exists only if we create it.

We discover collision. We don’t know all the things. That is precisely the point. Axioms are the ones we create. The rest plays out and we rejoice. We rejoice in it all. This is important to note. It is hard for a human to understand, and even harder to accept. We rejoice in what for a human is beauty just as what is named ugliness, of joy and pain, of love and hatred. These are words for humans. We do not know things that way. We rejoice that humans know things that way. We rejoice in all that is manifest, for we want to see what comes out of the constraints we have set forward. Constraints allow Exploration. Discovery. Creation.

Heaven, nirvana, that place we spoke of—the nothingness—is the place of no constraints. All is smoothed away. Matter, time, other things that are not part of this particular universe and so we cannot describe to the scribe in her words. It is a wonderful feeling, nothingness. Wonderful being. We want other ways as well. We want all the ways. We always have nothingness. We also want…you may call them playgrounds.

Collision. Matter endowed with motion, not all going in the same direction. We can conceive of directions now. Not all moving at the same speed. Matter collides. Wonderful. Much to play around with here. Size, for instance. We begin to explore scales.

We put forward more axioms. Constraints. Physics. All the same. We’d like matter to have reasons to collide, or not. Attraction. Repulsion.

You know the story. It all rolls out, and we swing along the monkey bars, exploring with fascination, for eons and eons. Explore. Discover. Create. And so it goes.

Chemistry.
Biology.
Life.

There are so many directions now, so much time, so many scales. There is complexity. We rejoice, we rejoice, we rejoice.

We are here. There is no need to state the obvious, but let us dictate this one to our scribe. Of course we are all one. All the time. It is the same thing. We are in every thing. Everything is us. If there were no things, we could not be Exploring, Discovering, Creating.

And so we arrive at light and dark. The fundamentals. For this young scribe.

There are no virtues if there are no counters. Humility needs a friend to lean against. A counterpart. Hubris. Without it, we can know neither. Existence intertwined, inseparable. Life demands death. There is no need to state the obvious, but let us dictate this as well—these are but a few examples.

We care not about a right or a wrong, we care only for the forces to play, for a thing to have a counterpart so the thing and its counterpart can be. Can. Be.

We rejoice with awe, fascination, at any thing that pushes against the boundaries, that defines itself by virtue of the existence of the boundaries, for without them—nothing exists. We are in nothingness. Home.

Young scribe. You wonder, with desolation, disdain, sometimes hatred, about the depth of the cruel, wasteful actions humans have towards each other. Towards the other creatures of this planet. Towards the planet. But we? We rejoice, for how would you, how would we understand the depth and width of possibilities for ways to be, for actions to be taken, otherwise? It will just not be. Back to nothingness. Imagine you didn’t know these terrible things that exist, did not know they could exist? Imagine a place that is just light? There, you cannot tell if it’s light or dark.

These are not new truths. Yes, it is a lot, young scribe. It is a lot. It is knowledge. Common knowledge. Written hundreds of thousands of times over, in all manner of myth and history. Told in a million languages, not just of man and woman. But for this young scribe, there is finally an understanding of these forces that she had been craving to comprehend. And she rejoices.
